Bella (Formerly Scout)
Since Bella (was Scout) is
coming up on her 1st birthday, I thought I'd send a few
pictures to update you on her progress.
We found GTR when we
decided our 8 year old male Golden Bear needed a friend
and playmate to encourage him to keep active and
hopefully shed a few excess pounds that were slowing him
down. I watched the Golden Treasures website for several
months before we decided to make the application. At the
time there were 3 puppies available who were rescues
from area shelters. How anyone would dump these darlings
off at a shelter was beyond me but thank goodness for
GTR who came to their rescue. We took Bear to meet the
puppies and try to narrow it down to one. We decided on
a beautiful and very affectionate female who we named
Bella.
Since then Bella has become
a very important part of our family. Her and Bear have
really bonded and play together non stop. They spend
every moment of every day together. And over the summer
Bear lost his weight and is more energetic than ever and
in great shape for a 8 yr old dog.
We are so happy with the
adoption process and impressed with the work that you
folks at GTR do, we have done some advertising and fund
raising of our own to help out.
On the first of every month
I make up flyers on my computer to post at my and my
husbands work place. I include the pictures of many of
the dogs available at the time and contact info for
anyone interested. I also set up a table at the Richland
County Strut your Mutt fund raiser recently.
We encourage anyone looking
to add a dog to their family to consider a rescued
Golden. They will fit themselves into your family and
make you wonder how you ever lived without them!
Forever Golden,
The Timmer family
