Oscar This is about Oscar, our dearest friend. Oscar found us this past July not long after we lost our old friend Bandit to cancer. Interestingly enough, I had been battling cancer myself since March and was going through radiation and chemo therapy at the time of his passing. Funny thing, I think old Bandit wanted to hang on just long enough to make sure I was going to be OK before he went to play in God's garden. Well, not long after his passing we knew we wanted to eventually get another friend in the house but maybe it was too soon. I remembered Golden Treasures from a time we had seen them a while ago and got a brochure from one of their exhibits. I got on their website and began to search even if it was just to feel like we had a dog again to help me feel better. So we decided to go ahead and begin the adoption process knowing that a Golden was just the right breed for us. We looked at a number of great dogs on the site and Golden treasures steered us more toward a "wanna be", Oscar. He's a Lab/Golden mix around 4 years old and the sweetest, most lovable friend on earth. He fits our lifestyle perfectly and still has just enough puppy in him to be playful at times and a little mischievous. Like the time about two weeks ago when he decided to devourer two dozen donuts off the counter. Never got sick, but he was a little buzzed on sugar for a few days. Oscar is truly our family friend now. We go for walks, rides in the car and lazy days when it's raining on the couch watching a movie together. Thank you Golden Treasures for helping Oscar find us. I'm past my cancer now and on the road to complete health again. I know that Oscar was sent to us for a lot of reasons, none the least of which was to help me get better and enjoy every day to its fullest, just like he does. Jim & Marla Stow, Ohio
